Best Unexpected Spider-Man Bestness

Spider-Man 3 to feature Gwen Stacy?
It's beyond official.
Quite the surprise. Now . . . who is Topher Grace playing, really? (I don't care what imdb says, Venom isn't official)

Well, that is certainly interesting. I didn't see it coming to be honest.

I had a theory that Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church were going to play the Chameleon. But now that Church is Sandman... I wonder. Kraven the Hunter that's who Topher Grace is going to be... that's my guess. He's not butch enough to play Venom.. But, maybe he'll play just a supporting character... like a sleazy reporter or something.

Oh come on! Kraven is the "butchiest" of all Spider-Villains! You can't see Grace playing a (most likely) all CGI monster but you can see him running around bare chested in Cheetah skin pans with lion fur on his shoulders?

Also. Is Kraven the only Marvel comics character to ever die and stay dead? It's been almost 20 years since his suicide.

She's a great choice to be sure. A thousand times better than Kirsten Dunst, and infinitely better cast. I just can't believe they've decided to introduce Gwen Stacey in the *third* film. They already did the scene where she was supposed to have died; they filmed it on my cable-car! I mean, her death sent Peter Parker into depression, which prompted Aunt May to set him up on a blind date with Mary Jane. Not that I'm...uh...into comic books or anything.

I heard rumours about the Black Cat being introduced: I hope they won't syncretize her with Gwen Stacey...

And I can see Topher Grace playing Eddie Brock. I have a good imagination. And Church looks properly imposing in the shots of him dressed as Sandman. Provided the film doesn't suffer from its apparent surfeit of characters, it should be a good'un.

Brigham it was surely in jest. Topher Grace would be a terrible Kraven the Hunter. I guess I have to work on my typed sarcasm.

It's like I punked myself.
I always take comic books too seriously.
