Friday I got this from Grandma Taylor:
A box full of fresh-from-the-tree California avocados! They say money doesn't grow on trees, but if you've got access to an avocado tree, it sort of does. I've got a couple ripening in a bag right now, you should come by for guacamole in a couple days.
Also, apparently Grandma wears Chacos? Who knew?

You should try an avocado shake. They're surprisingly good.
an avocado (or half of one, if you're doubtful)
sweetened condensed milk
vanilla ice cream
some sugar (to taste)
some people add half a banana...
You tell me where and when and I will be there for guacomole. I follow it like a humble servant to his master. I would also be there for any shake type product that is produced.
if you're looking for something REALLY new, I've got a cookbook called "Avocado Recipes, Etc.". for example, the Green-Gold Party Platter, which involves things like 1 envelope lemon-flavored gelatin, 2 cups chicken, and 4 deviled eggs. but this is my favorite part of the book-
"cover a freshly-removed seed with a thin cloth. prick the fruit deeply through the cloth with a needle or pin. a permanent brown dye will appear as a dot on the cloth where the point went through. this is a simple method for permanently marking or even laying out patterns for stitching, embroidery or monogramming."
-ha! a simple method involving a slippery avocado core, some cloth and a sharp object. this must be in the "etc." category.
