Best Nearly Nothing to Report

Not too much to say about this weekend, except that when I got off the train Saturday afternoon there was something on 6th Avenue.

From what I could tell, it was big, it was black, it was shiny, and it was broken. Also, it was thick. There was a police car there to keep people headed east from driving over it, but nothing to stop the cars coming from the south.

I sort of wanted to write a post about music I've been listening to, but then I discovered that my buddy Shane had just written a much better post than I would have, so I refer you to his Records of 2006 instead.

However, I will say this. I just got a copy of the new LCD Soundsystem record, "Sound of Silver" (in stores March 13th!) and I like it. Sometimes bands get terrible reviews when they make records that sound just like their last record, but with LCD Soundsystem, their new album better sound like their last one. It's fun, it has some slow jams, it has some long, strong dance jams . . . everything you could want. Those Bowery shows couldn't come soon enough.

Also, maybe someone listening to this record would say "This first track ('Get Innocuous') is awful! It sounds just like 'Losing My Edge!'" And to that I would say "No, it sounds just like it could be played into 'Losing My Edge'." And with dance music that's pretty vital, to have songs that lead into each other. They just don't usually occur on completely different records.

And you're right, I should have posted a link to this record. But it's too big for yousendit.

You need to change yer link to the Records of 2006 to delete the briggie.blogspot.com bit from it so it works!

How can I get a copy of this LCD Soundsystem record of which you speak? March is a long way away.

Also...tickets were purchased successfully on your behalf.

I'll burn you a copy at the meeting tomorrow night . . . but I'm all out of blank CDs. Bring a CD!
