A&P by John Updike
This is one of the stories that I read in my first English Major class that told me "Yes, Brigham, you are in the right place." The ease and flow of the writing was stunning to me in 1998 and caught me off guard again tonight.
Put in a strong day at work, I've got a dinner with my brother-in-law at the Ssam Bar in a couple of hours, and I just re-read this absolute classic. Good day, good day indeed.
