Also, doesn't the World Cup have a lot more buzz in the US this time? Slowly but surely, we are being converted unto Soccer. That'll be one of the developments in 21st Century United States, that we become a nation of Soccer fans. I think it means other sports will have to go out of style. I think Tennis is waning. That's just the feeling I get, here in the city, away from all the tennis courts and tennis players.

I just want to send a shout out to Mexico and say "Way to go" on their World Cup victory over Afghanistan Iran this weekend. I wish I had known to be aware of this game happening. Oh well. I'm downloading it right now to watch someday. I bet it's a really exciting game as the score was 3-1 and I hear that two of those Mexican goals happened in the last 15 minutes of the game (and were scored by the same guy, too). So go Mexico! I hope you beat whoever is next!

I just ran into my boss in the hallway and he told me to "follow him" into his office. I obeyed and sat down expecting some serious human resources related situation to discuss. Nope. He pulled up a World Cup website and proceeded to talk to me about it for 15 minutes. He's rooting for the United States (because he lives there), England (because he thinks his family is from there) and Mexico (because he likes to surf). Definitely more buzz.
Too bad we are getting buzz just in time to get our buts kicked by the Czecks.
Also, congrats to my boys in Argentina for spanking the Ivory Coast!
i just can't believe the Ivory Coast lost.
The biggest surprise to me is to hear Al Michaels pontificate on how the US can possibly beat Italy on Saturday... Sorry Gatorade, Adidas USA and Puma USA... you just dumped a whole of money into a competition that reminds US citizens everywhere the reason we don't watch soccer... because we stink at it.
Also, why do they call it chivas futbol... when there are very little actual chivas present.
Cassian, its the Ivory Coast. Of course they lost. It is only clear that a loss would have taken place in that match up.
