So, Saturday night Stephen, Katie, and I were invited by Michelle as her +3's to a concert/party being thrown by Garnier at Crash Mansion on Bowery. The "concert" portion of the party was to featurea a band called the Sick Puppies. Pretty much all I could find out about the Sick Puppies before the show was that a song of theirs was featured in this awful video on Youtube.
In case you didn't click on the video (good idea) it's footage of this guy who gives out free hugs. Apparently this video is a worldwide sensation? Or at least over 11 million people have watched the first minute of it before turning it off (like me). Out of control Web 2.0 sensations like this make me a little sick. Anyway. This video had me underexcited to see the Sick Puppies but I am never not excited to be a plus anything to a corporate event.
Michelle and Stephen. Excited about something.
It turns out the Sick Puppies themselves weren't so bad. I think I was able to like them because all the Guitar Hero I've been playing has made me a lot more likely to enjoy mall rock. They weren't super original sounding, but they made a good effort.
Even though I don't show it, I kind of liked it.
Footnote:
Since it was a Garnier party, they were giving out free hairdo's. Katie couldn't have gotten in line for her's fast enough.
The results, post-party:
Footnote 2:
Before the party we ate at BRGR, a new burger place on 7th Avenue. It was my second trip to the establishment. Although it has been receiving sort of iffy buzz and reviews, I find myself liking it. I've had the #4 (american cheese, fried egg, mayo, ketchup, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato) and the #2 (gruyere, avocado, herb mayonnaise, onion, lettuce, tomato) and they were both really tasty. The sides I've had (the fries and the onion hay) were both pretty weak (meaning: I don't recommend them at all) but their black and white shake is tasty. On the whole, it is a fun, tasty, overpriced place. (Yet their fountain drinks are a bargain at just $1.50 w/ unlimited refills).
Footnote 3:
Please do not ignore my post from Saturday about Keith's movies he made on his birthday. You need to check them out.

I heard from Stephen that the $1.50 drinks can include Mr. Pibb on tap, which makes this place super awesome. The only other place that offers this type of heaven is Chipotle.
P.S. Mr. Pibb is more delicious than Dr. Pepper on tap...Dr. Pepper is better in can/bottle form.
