Here's a pretty good and pretty long article (editorial?) on one of my favorite topics: Why Women Aren't Funny.
For me, the problem of Women Not Being Funny was solved a month or so ago when the Variety Shac was introduced to me. Then, in turn, a member of the Variety Shac introduced me to this article. It's like a downward spiral of Why Aren't Women Funny/Funny Women/Why Aren't Women Funny/Funny Women going on for ever and ever.

wait, the problem was solved because variety shac is funny? i'm asking because it's not funny.
No, you're wrong. They're funny.
any argument i would make against this article and why i hate it (i read it in vanity fair a bit ago) would only prove that women aren't funny. (kind of like, if i have to tell you hey, i am cool. . . i'm not.) especially because i would be forced to throw the word patriarchy around. but seriously, come on guys.
First of all, not all men are funny (and I venture to put the writer of the Vanity Fair article in that category). In fact, I would say most men AREN'T funny - women laugh out of courtesy sometimes, ya know? Maybe the issue is that men try harder to BE funny, whereas women don't try as much. We don't need to.
Amen, sista! You said it, Lexia.
Maybe women save their best jokes for those girls-only moments where we make fun of lame guys who try too hard to be funny??
The defence refers to Exhibit A M'Lud: Mitch Clark. Very funny.
Exhibit B: Bjork. Funny, albeit unintetionally.
Exhibit C: Roseanne Barr. Oh wait...
