Best Midwestern Import

I should have told you about this in February, but . . .

Beloved Midwestern burger/diner chain Steak n Shake has opened an outpost in Manhattan, right next door to the Ed Sullivan theater.  Their NYC establishment serves a limited, almost burgers-only menu, but look at that guy.  Just look at him.  It's a smash-style double cheese wonder and the shocking, amazing thing about the place is that everything is Midwestern prices.  Meaning: Double cheeseburger with fries, just $4.  Another way of saying that: For less than the price of a Big Mac you can have the above burger, with fries.  Shakes, handspun, start at $3.50.  The value is insane, the taste exceptional.  There's no better burger deal in the city.  In fact, I can't think of anywhere in the city you can eat so well for under $5.  So let me call it the best food deal in all of Manhattan.

I can't believe in all the time I've been living in Chicago with a Steak 'n Shake down the road I have never been. What is wrong with me?
