Best Celebration of the Life Sciences

The highlight of my Provo freetime two weekends ago was my visit to the Bean Museum.  I nearly filled my 4GB memory card while I was there.  Here's some of the "highlights."

I'm not sure every animal in there was real.

But I know the Dik Dik is real.

The Bean is such a weird place but such a treasure.  It truly sets BYU apart as a school quite unlike any other.  Except for the other ones with entire museums built to house donated taxidermy collections.

My last few years at BYUI our church was held in the science building. It was really awkward having class with dead animals, and Sacrament Meeting with the table of elements behind the podium.

No one told me about this place. No one ever. I might have gone to the U but I lived in Provo for a good majority of my time there. And I even sometimes rooted for BYU to beat Utah. Still, no one told me.

Such great childhood memories! The light boxes, the grizzly bear on its hind legs, and that odd chemically smell. I hope they never get rid of it.
