Best What I Used to Do

Back in the day Steady Mobbin' used to be (almost) nothing but celebrity sightings. And then I kind of fell off the reporting a bit, and also got a little weak in the sighting department, but I have had a few here and there over the last little while. Most of them are totally indie:

-John Cameron Mitchell crossing 12th at 7th Avenue.

-Michael Ian Black crossing, I don't know, maybe 17th or 18th street at 9th Avenue. He looks really different when he isn't smiling.

-James Murphy (of DFA Records and LCD Soundsystem) at the corner of 23rd and 6th Ave while I was riding a bus on Sunday (he's the one in the white t-shirt) . . . I know, what's he doing above 14th Street, right?

-Tim Robbins ducking into a wine store on 6th Avenue Monday night. (I see Tim around so much I wonder if he even counts)

-I rode the elevator with Elvis Costello in my building a few weeks ago. It's the first time the two of us had ever been together alone. He refused to look me in the eye and had the same cell phone as my friend Cindy.

-Just tonight, walking up Sullivan between Prince and Houston, I saw Jason Dill chilling on the steps outside of a restaurant.

-And then just a few feet later I ran into Antonio Banderas outside of an Italian place. He was wearing a light suit and asking another fellow "How many CCs has it got?"

And that's everyone that I remember right now. No, I never see any famous women. Ever. They hide too well behind their enormous sunglasses.

Thanks for the tip phone call last night after we parted ways post-Peep-appetizer-thon. Of course I had to run right over and pretend to talk on my cell phone whilst looking at Antonio through the glass. He's so hot right now.

I have never heard of those people! What ever happened to ... Michael Jackson? Now that's a celebrity!

I meant the people who are highlighted.
