Best Summer Rock Festival: The Prologue

Last Thursday I took a cab to La Guardia to fly to Chicago. It was the worst cab in the world. The airconditioner broke and the driver drove really jerky. The result: I was carsick all through the ride, all through the 2 1/2 wait for my late flight, all through my flight, and pretty much up until the next morning.

But it was nice to get to Chicago and see the new stuff at Midway Airport.

Mom picked me up and we made a late night stop at Inos for some brilliant Mexican food.

The next morning we picked up Kelsi from the dog groomer. I couldn't believe how good she looked. Kelsi really cleans up nice.

It was absolutely impossible to get her to pose for a photo.

She just would not look at the camera.

We went downtown to pick up our wristbands for Lollapalooza. While it seemed a little silly to go all the way downtown to exchange tickets for wristbands a day before the concert, this proved to be a good move on our part . . . (as you'll see in my next post, which is taking forever to make)

The bean at Millennium Park still eludes me, but insists on taunting me with it's shiny little rear end.

That night we went to Benihana's to celebrate Greg's half-birthday.

During the meal I revealed to my family that New York had turned me into a devourer of sushi. This was not easy for my family to accept.

Dad had the prime seat at the table. Not only did he get the best view of the chef, but he also got to listen in on the conversation of the couple sharing the table with us. Apparently the fellow's mom is so fat that her liver turned into fois gras and she had to get a liver transplant.

There was a minor malfunction with the onion volcano.

And here we are, Mother and I once again.

How do you get your friends and family to quit whining about being pictured and talked about on your blog? Because everyone I know constantly complains about being on my blog. They should be thanking me for making them frickin' famous.
