It's Always Better on Holiday III, Pt.3

Well, after I got up and went to church with Grandma, Matt and I drove up to Park City. And if I'm not compulsively compelled to take pictures of little Provo houses, then I'm compulsively compelled to take pictures out the windows of moving cars.



It's because living in New York has made me feel like a dog going for a puppy ride every time I get in a car now.



And I just can't help but feel that these images would be as exciting to you as they are to me.



And then there we were, in delightful downtown Park City, Utah!





The purpose of our visit was to check out the Kimball Art Center where former New Yorker Annie Kennedy works.



And quite conveniently, former New Yorker Adam Bateman has a show at the Kimball Art Center that just barely opened.



And even more conveniently, Adam was there at the center taking pictures of his art.



I couldn't help but take pictures of his book art either.

Next to books, Adam's favorite medium seems to be alphabet soup letters painted black.



I hadn't seen Adam's backwards paperback art before. It's really good looking.



While I was at the gallery I didn't even think to ask "How are these books affixed to the wall?" and now it's all I can wonder.



Artfully enlightened, we went around the corner to a pizza place for tacos.

And then Matt and I headed for Logan, "the back way."



You know how I feel about roads. Because I just told you a few photos ago.



I was told in freshman art class that odd numbered sets of things are more interesting than even sets of things.



There was a sunny rain in Ogden.



Matt pulled over to check out a development and I checked out some brambles.



When we got to Logan a grasshopper hopped onto Matt's windshield and it did result in some fine, fine photos.

Too bad you'll lose interest in this insect since I've only got an even number of photos of it.

And then we were at Logan, at Andrew's house.



Andrew and Michaela (Miss-Shayla) were in back grilling some porkchops.



And Alex was in front taking care of a broken-winged robin.



I think this guy was named Travis. He was pretty cool.



Did you know that there are stories on the backs of Newman's Own Dressing Bottles?



There was dessert!



Andrew, always dignified, even with hair ensnared by elastic band.



Travis put a feather in Michaela's hair.



I'd say that about every three weeks a pretty decent-looking photo of me winds up on Steady Mobbin'. Yes, this is what I consider "pretty decent." My standards aren't too high.



Lying back on the floor I spied in the distance creatures and snakes.



Because it is Logan, and because it is more serene and calm there than anywhere else, you must take dusky walks. But dusky walks often yield blurry photos . . . if people are really walking.



But it's hard to make people that aren't walking look like they are.



As if she needed to prove her coolness to Matt and I, Michaela snuck up to this family's large picture window and took photos of them enjoying their dinner. Michaela Spy, by this time you didn't need to do anything else to impress us, but good work anyway.
