This week in the NY Times blogs that lady who made the great illustrated blog about Abraham Lincoln (remember?) made a great illustrated blog about Ben Franklin and the spirit of invention.
One thing that really jumped out at me was the bit on Franklin's daily goal-sheet/planner. I spend all day making to do lists in my notebook and making little mini-goals, I loved seeing Franklin's organized little daily schedule. Looking at this I thought to myself: What a great planner, what a great layout. What a great way to structure your day. Someone really ought to sell a book full of these, they'd make a bundle.
And then, hours later, still thinking about Franklin's planner, it finally hit me:
This must be what's inside Franklin Planners. This must be why there's Franklin Planners and a Franklin Covey.
Nothing like recognizing a need 25 years after it was met.
