But the problem is, where do I make my year-cut off mark? If I do it by blog years, we'll have to wait until June of next year. If I do it by year years, we'll have to wait until January. Considering that when I ask myself: "What are the best concerts I've seen this year?" A Faint show from last November immediately comes to mind, I think we can expect a "So Best" Round-Up around the end of October, just in time for me to have seen the White Stripes, Arcade Fire, and Franz Ferdinand.

Oh, and Ian is right. A live Kaiser set absolutely destroys their album. The Album = 3 stars, maybe. Them Live = A clear night on top of a mountain in the middle of the dessert.Brighamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16033894554365921669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171326.post-1122646465727232752005-07-29T10:14:00.000-04:002005-07-29T10:14:00.000-04:00Upon reading my own comment, I think I sounded neg...Upon reading my own comment, I think I sounded negative. Your post was great and worth the wait, effort. Thanks for sharing the moments!Side of Jeffreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14899720327165941804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171326.post-1122646391583327642005-07-29T10:13:00.000-04:002005-07-29T10:13:00.000-04:00I am confused by this post and previous posts of 2...I am confused by this post and previous posts of 2005. Though very thorough, extremely engaging, and full of great suprises (Bill Idol photo now as my wallpaper)...I just can't grasp what your favorite moments in rock are this year so far? There has been soooo many comments of bests (maybe everything can be best?). Maybe you could do a synopsis: Best concert (name 3), best rock moment (name 3), and best band pictures (name 3). That would be awesome and really help me out. I'm scared that I might tell someone your favorite rock moment was a moment that wasn't even memorable.Side of Jeffreyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14899720327165941804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7171326.post-1122628681530513522005-07-29T05:18:00.000-04:002005-07-29T05:18:00.000-04:00I envy you for having seen Billy Idol in concert. ...I envy you for having seen Billy Idol in concert. Serious envy. He's the only one I'd really have been excited about, but then I've always been a sucker for the 80's and for Billy (in that order). Did he play "The Dead Next Door" or "Blue Highway"?

Also: the Kaiser Chiefs rock thoroughly, and I envy you for seeing them too. 'Though it's a shame their songs sound better live than on the album--if I'd heard their album on its own without seeing them perform I wouldn't have given it any further consideration.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
